The body can affect the brain just like the brain affects the body. That’s why regular exercise is such an important part of addiction recovery. As your body gets stronger and more resilient, so will your brain, and so will you.
Physical training is also a proven way to reduce the symptoms of emotional withdrawal (PAWS) and bring your body back into balance more quickly. At Tree House, exercise is a daily activity. It’s a way to get stronger, control cravings, and make new relationships with teammates. All of these are key things that lead to lifelong sobriety.

MINDFULNESS THERAPY
Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) helps you short circuit the negative thinking patterns that can lead to relapse. Particularly during stressful times. MBCT believes that thoughts, feelings, and our behaviors are all linked in a circle, each affecting the others.
In MBCT, you will learn how meditation can help separate you from your thoughts and emotions, and provide the clarity needed to choose positive solution-focused behaviors.
Meditation is a way to better understand and manage your thoughts and emotions. It’s an invaluable tool for self-care.
